Based in Brooklyn, NY, KLAY NYC is a woman-owned, LGBTQIA+ small business that specializes in small batch home decor, creating handmade functional art for your home, and believes it should also be affordable. What started as a way to pass the time in 2020 and find a new creative outlet, KLAY NYC quickly became a small business, selling products on Etsy, at Markets, and Artist Mixers. I am passionate about making unique pieces that people will cherish in their homes. The idea of customers happily putting out a few uniquely-designed incense burners, tea light candle holders, coasters, decorative arches and bookends, or ornaments is always exciting!
As the owner of KLAY NYC, working with my hands to create something that will bring joy to others is a passion of mine. While I have always been a painter, I discovered the joy of working with clay and resin, finding clay and resin to be wonderful mediums for creating special objects. Making each piece with lots of care and love, happy customers using KLAY NYC products brings a smile to my face.
Some of the products offered are small and large bowls (often used as jewelry bowls, trinket trays, and keepsakes for their precious items), small and large trays, dishes, and coasters that come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, candle holders, ornaments, incense holders, statement pieces (such as paperweights, arches, pillars, and pyramids), ring bowls, soap trays, pencil and makeup cups and sets, etc.
Most items can be customized and/or personalized. Every piece is unique and made just for you. My pieces often have dried, pressed flowers, washi tape, and whole dried bouquet flowers in statement pieces.
All resin home decor items are hand-designed and poured, molded, crafted, painted, glossed, and created with a minimalist and elegant aesthetic, while also making a unique statement!
All clay items are handmade from start to finish - from the clay modeling process and hand rolling to sanding, stippling and stamping, pouring, carving, designing, handpainting and the gloss sealing.
